The second concert in the Elijah Project saw us move on to the wonderful setting of St Davids Cathedral in Pembrokeshire. The choir was reduced to 120 for this performance because of the more limited space, though the orchestra continued at full-strength.
Jessica Cale replaced Rosie Powell as Soprano soloist and members of the Polyphonic sang the trio Lift Thine Eyes, which in Cardiff had been sung by the soloists, and did so rather beautifully. These considerations aside, all was as at the Hoddinot the week before.
The event drew a large crowd not just for the concert, but also for the rehearsal in the afternoon. At the conclusion of And then shall your light break forth, another rapturous reception ensued. Another week, another standing ovation!
