Description:	Kodaly’s Missa Brevis was composed in early 1945 during the Battle of Budapest, and written in the cellar of the Budapest Opera House. It was adapted from his earlier Organ Mass. The mass starts with an Introitus, followed by the 6 traditional parts of the Mass (Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Benedictus and Agnus Dei), and concludes with “Ite missa est”. Dvorak’s mass in D was written in 1887 for soloists, choir and organ. This popular work is simple yet expressive, being full of rich Czech harmonies and melodies.
