We sang a short afternoon programme of Opera choruses on 7th July 2024 as part of Llandaff Festival; we were accompanied by Capital Youth Band and conducted by Simon Lovell-Jones and Tom Griffin.
These are the choruses we sang:
Anvil Chorus - Il Trovatore - Verdi
Witches chorus - Macbeth - Verdi
Toreador's chorus - Carmen - Bizet
Soldier's chorus - Faust - Gounod
Matador's chorus - La Traviata - Verdi
Act II chorus - Orfeo ed Eurydice - Gluck
Grand march - Aida - Verdi
After our very special and highly successful concert at Llandaff Cathedral on March 16th (when we sang the World Premiere of 'TIME', a Cantata by award-winning local composer Iain James Veitch), we are taking a short break for the Easter holidays. Rehearsals will resume on April 8th 2024, when we will be preparing two works that we will sing in Llandaff Cathedral as part of the 2024 Llandaff Cathedral Festival - a short concert of Operatic arias on Sunday July 7th, and Dvorak's Mass in D as part of the cathedral service on Sunday July 14th. We hope you will come and hear us sing these works in July.
